Well, surprise. It started out actually as two things Gulf of America Girl LLC, which turned into a very driven marine assistant and cross-attraction digital marketing team for the marine world. And it took an interesting turn. Also, alongside that, I am the proud captain of Fort Myers YachtRentals.com. Now it has actually become an ultimate marine Rolodex meets reality TV energy, meets adventure concierge. And we're not just a charter company, we're actually a vetted directory that's full of captains and charter experiences, marine businesses, rental vessels, hidden gems, creators, and unforgettable adventures across the entire state of Florida. And we are Florida boat adventures.

Yeah, it's absolutely enormous, Jim. Are you kidding me? So people really just don't want brochures anymore, although it is nice to have some type of print. They want stories, uh, they want connections, and most importantly, they want the behind the scenes, okay? Florida Boat Adventures combine social media, entertainment, and tourism. We are interviewing captains, we are adventure content influencers, we are collaborating with brilliant minds across the marine world. We are your voting culture. I will tell you the truth. We are real human stories, and we are all rolled

So you've been on Fort Myers Beach for what, seven years now? What's happened during that time that's led to this success?

Captain Melody King 3:43

What hasn't happened in seven years? Okay, so honestly, Fort Myers Beach has significantly changed the trajectory of my entire life, let alone just my career. Uh, the last seven years have been absolutely wild. Uh, the last almost four, we've been rebuilding, reinventing. We are in survival mode. We are meeting some of the most incredible people, and I am documenting every single soul along the way. So for some, that literally uh is scary, but for others, figuratively, it's wild. And welcome to the adventure. Somewhere in all of this, God kept showing me pieces of this massive vision. I met captains with unbelievable stories. I lost my best friends who just started out as fishing partners, uh, yacht crews, divers. I have met military veterans who house the most incredible stories of when they were in the United States Coast Guards. And guess what? They can finally share their stories. With that being said, I've met entrepreneurs across the marine industry who have no idea how to attach being seen or bird on the internet, and people who built their entire lives on the water, but nobody was telling their story. And so Florida Bone Invention, baby. Here's where I realized this industry is filled with legends that nobody sees because they're busy at sea. So Florida Bone Adventures became bigger than me, and it became one hell of a mission, Cabo Jim.

So one thing that's because about you is uh you have energy, just a little bit. I'm not saying, but you got a little bit of energy. But you seem genuinely obsessed with connecting people a lot. I'm an interesting picture, if you will, right?

You know, uh people are our most natural resource, and the connections that we have literally changed lives. Now, I've watched complete strangers become business partners and become best friends and become long-distance international travel companions. Even relationships and love has happened because they stepped onto a both that I'm on. And I'll be honest, they made the choice to step on it together. So there's something about being on the water that strips people down from who they really are, rips off the mask, no walls, no eyelashes, no distractions, just experiences, conversations, sunsets, music, dolphins, laughter, something called panacea, which is a cure all and it feels like magic.

Faith, Purpose, And Captain Chronicles

So I know you ultimately talk about your faith, and being a Christian woman influenced. How's being a Christian woman influenced you in this business?

Captain Melody King 6:35

Oh, my faith is the foundation point blank period. Uh, Florida Boat Adventures was built through prayer, it was built through obedience to the Lord. It was resilience and trusting God's timing, even when absolutely none of this makes sense on paper. It's called the starfish surrender. And I truly believe that God took me in this industry to connect people, encourage people, spotlight hidden talents, and create opportunities for others. And this is not about votes for me, it is actually all about God's purpose.

It's important. So you keep mentioning these captains and their stories because we all know we have lots of them. Tell us about Captain Chronicles.

Oh my gosh. So the Captain Chronicles behind the hound is absolutely going to blow people's minds when we release it to the public. It's just amazing. So it's our behind-the-scenes interview series where we sit down with captains from every background imaginable. We have former Coast Guard stories that they're finally allowed to share. We have dive masters, fishermen, yacht captains, military veterans, marine scientists, watermen, adventurers. And I'm going to tell you the real stories behind the house. The public, they see the boats. Uh, you want to meet the humans driving them. There is heartbreak, there is a dungeon, there are sea rescues, there's tragedy, there are sacrifices, and there are lots of stories that we're bringing to the public. In all these crazy moments, there is wisdom behind all of it.

Honestly, I'm just somebody that fell in love with the water, and I fell in love with people, and I realized storytelling could change lives. And when I was telling stories after Hurricane Ian, I realized that I was the true creator with purpose and passion to serve others. I'm a child of God, I am a connector, and I'm a Christian woman with a huge vision and a huge heart for the industry. And I truly believe that we are only getting started.
